Registration procedures

Relevant audience:

Students or professionals minimum age 16. A parental permission is compulsory for everyone under 18.

Inscription:

A pre-registration to the IEF courses can be recorded upon reception of the following:

  1. The completed enrolment form, dated and signed,
  2. 2 ID photos in passport format (5cm x 4cm) with a white background,
  3. The payment or the evidence of payment of the entire sum or a deposit of 228€ per class

General conditions:

The IEF does not take the responsibility of the bank charges relative to the payment of the courses. The application is only final and contractual if the integrity of the amount due is paid to the IEF account two weeks before classes start.
The IEF agrees to take late applications by email only if they are accompanied by an evidence of the payment (a copy of the check, of the transfer or evidence of the sending of a money order).

Cancellation of enrolment:

If you want to cancel your application you have to notify at least two weeks before the beginning of the classes by registered mail; 91€ will be retained on the sum already paid. Half of the sum will be retained for any cancellation less than two weeks before the beginning of classes. Once the classes have started, no reimbursement will be done.
The IEF reserves itself the right to cancel, by registered mail, two weeks before the scheduled date, any placement or course if the minimum number of participants is not reached. In this case, an alternative proposal or a reimbursement of the paid sums will automatically be done.
Insurances
Liability insurance is subscribed by the IEF in accordance to the current regulations. It is highly recommended to everyone to subscribe, before his/her departure, to an individual insurance covering the totality of the risks for travel and for their stay (health, repatriation, loss or theft of personal effects, material or bodily damage vis à vis third parties).
Administrative formalities for a 3-month stay
Before your departure you have to present yourself to the French Consulate of your country with the statement of your enrolment, issued by the IEF after your enrolment (sent after payment of the totality of the sum due) and make a request for a "VISA”
On your arrival, the IEF will help you to go through the necessary steps in order for you to validate your VISA by the French Office of Integration and Immigration.

It is imperative that you provide:

  1. a proof of financial resources or a statement of responsibility signed by your parents
  2. 4 recent ID photos on a white background
  3. Passport or identity card (proof of identity)
  4. Proof of a medical insurance (or an E111 form for members of the European Union)
  5. Evidence of your address in La Rochelle issued by the IEF (if your accommodation is being managed by the IEF) or the renting agency/landlord.
