Eligibilty

Students or professionals, minimum age 16. Parental authorisation is obligatory for persons under the age of 18.

Enrolment

A pre-enrolment to the course of  l'Institut d'Etudes Françaises can be registered after the reception of the following elements:

1.       The completed enrolment form, dated and signed (download the form)

2.       The linguistic pre-test  (download the test)

3.       3 identity photos (passport format - 5cmx4cm) on a white background.

4.       The payment or the proof of payment for the total sum payable or a deposit of 228€ per course.

General conditions

The IEF does not take responsibility for the bank charges relative to the payment of the course. The enrolment is definitive and contractual only if the total of the sum due is paid to the account of the IEF, two weeks before the start of the course.

The IEF accepts late enrolments by fax on condition that they are accompanied  by a justification of payment ( copy of the cheque, bank transfer, or justification of the dispatch  of a money order).

Cancellation of enrolment

The cancellation of enrolments must be notified by registered letter, at the latest, 2 weeks before the start of the course; a sum of 91€ will be retained on the sums already paid. After this delay, half of the sum due will be conserved. All courses which are started must be paid in full. In certain cases, the reimbursement may be able to be discussed.

Insurances

l'Institut d'Etudes Françaises subscribes to a civil liability insurance conforming to the current regulations. It is highly recommended that each person , before his / her departure subscribes to an individual insurance, covering the totality of the risks for travel and for their stay (health, repatriation, loss or  theft of personal effects, material or bodily damage vis à vis third parties.

Administrative formalities for a 3 month stay

Before your departure present yourself to the French Consulate of your country with the statement of your enrolment, issued by the IEF at the time of your enrolment (after payment of the totality of the sums due) and make a request  for a "VISA  GIVING THE RIGHT TO A  "CARTE de SEJOUR" (visitor's Identity card for the duration of your stay).

On your arrival , the reception service of the IEF will go through with you, the steps relative to obtaining your "carte de sejour" (visitor's identity card).

It is imperative that you provide:

1.      a proof of financial resources or a statement of responsibility signed by your parents

2.      4 recent identity photos on a white background

3.      Passport or identity card (proof of identity)

4.      Proof of a medical insurance (or an E111 form for members of the European Union)
